Surely Whiteman is fit by now, I don't get him being benched continually regardless of contract or his non-scouse background not being good enough for Lowe.

He should've come in today and instead as usual Swift and Mowatt completely run the game.

Disappointing from the manager.

No point playing him cause we launch it. Tbf I think today is the most long ball I've seen us play and it was deliberate so I think he goes for grit and engine over ball player cause it's a bypassed area. Just my opinion from how we set up but he's better than ledson and McCann no doubt, maybe Whiteman could add off the scale work rate to his game also.

If Whiteman's there though he's always going to be coming short wanting to receive ball from backline. It changes the mentality as the back 3 would always rather pass to him under pressure than Ledson who'll just boot it anywhere when pressed so can construct some decent moves as whatever was the gameplan today was an epic fail.

Lose a game and we're back to the deluded Scouse hate. You couldn't write it.

Here's an idea why he's been on the bench, we had won 6 out of 8 and drawn the other 2.

Blimey, "Scouse hate" you wet lettuce.

We might have been unbeaten, but for some it was clear there were still weaknesses in the side. Pay attention to successful sides elsewhere, they rotate and play to their strengths. If you think a midfield pairing of Ledson and McCann is a strength for a team at the top end of the division then you're deluded pal.

Rather than some conspiracy about where the manager's and other players are from, perhaps the reason Whiteman's not started yet is simply that he was injured for half the games and for the other half he's been kept out by Lowe understandably being reluctant to change a winning team, along with Whiteman still getting up to speed after being out injured since early pre-season.

He surely must be ready for a start after coming on against Plymouth, Birmingham, Rotherham and now West Brom. Even if there is less building from deep this season, in my opinion there's no aspect of the role that Ledson is currently fulfilling that Whiteman cannot carry out just as well or better.

I also can't help but think Whiteman will be better off not playing as some kind of ball-playing centreback anyway, and will be able to affect the game from a more advanced position with the cover of McCann and the defence behind him.

If we are going to launch it I would rather it was him launching it as he might get him somewhere near where we want it over the three centre halves and Ledson and McCann

I have always wanted to see him more advanced where he could shoot more or pick a through ball rather than this quarterback role

You're putting words in my mouth.

Personally I don't think Ledson is anywhere near good enough and that Whiteman is one of our better players.

But when someone slates the manager for not playing someone, when we're unbeaten and then also blames the fact it's because he has no Scouse connections (a joke it maybe but many have slated RL for the amount of Scouse connections he's used), then I'll call a spade a spade and say it's a moronic post.

If you've got a problem with that and disagree I think you're deluded, and don't be such a wet lettuce, it's my opinion.

They're launching it before he gets the ball, that's the point

Browne was the worst of our midfield today, shocking in every aspect of his game

Ledson did plenty of one touch launches today, Whiteman would’ve put a foot on the ball and found a pass and given us a bit more control.
I dont think that's how lowey set up today I think what we did was the game play and what you're saying, although i agree with, isn't how we're meant to be playing

Absolutely, compete for your place in the team. Now we have lost maybe Lowe will freshen up the side. The targeted criticism of some of our players is awful. Browne & Ledson get so much flack (even when we're top of the league). Whiteman was at fault for the Plymouth goal a few weeks ago, non of us know if he is committed to our club. It's time for Ben to play his way into the side and then agree terms. Otherwise he can move on like many others in his position. Let's not critise the team or manager given our fantastic start. Big games coming up next week.

I’m sure he wants it more than Centre halves giving away
I'm not disagreeing that whiteman should be starting I'm saying I don't think Whiteman does the job lowey wants. We flung and floated it down the right wing all game, like we did against Plymouth, so I don't think short passes in our own half is how we're setting up this season. Watch the games.

I am and when we have had more possession in recent games we got 1 point
