A bit of photography

I’m a member of a birdwatching group on Facebook “RSPB Birders” and this was posted today. The person posting has a foreign-sounding name - and the consensus is that his comment was an innocent mistake 😄

Definitely a nice photo

What a fantastic photo Reg….

Unfortunate turn of phrase, but quite amusing nonetheless

Looking at an upgrade - have pondered in the past but I think this time I want to make the 'next step up'.

Currently use a Sony Alpha A65 which has served me well (and will still serve as a secondary camera for train photography). Not sure where to start looking - the Sony E mount cameras look pretty decent but I'm willing to consider other manufacturers as well.

My budget will probably be around £1000 for the actual camera body - budget for an additional lens or two just depends.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

My daughter took this on her phone from our back garden yesterday evening. My eldest son ended up driving us around looking for high spots to get better ones but this was probably the best. Couldn't see all the colours obviousy from the naked eye. Got the streaks and glowing bits though.
First time in my 54 years.😀

Was a good night to spot the northern lights, due to the massive solar flare the other day.
@roofer32 used to give the heads up for the northern lights, but I supposed he has been made redundant with the birth of all the apps.
I, tonight, missed the buggers. You couldn’t see them from the town centre because of all the light pollution.
Went on a cruise to Norway to see them and they only showed on night, and you could only see then via your phone. So, in general, they’re shite! 😲😲😲🤣🤣🤣

If there is a god. 'Give them the northern lights and miserable northern bastards will still moan."
