Confirmed Alan Browne - Leaves PNE

Absolutely no doubt Sunderland are a much bigger club than us and they'll genuinely be targeting a return to the Premier League rather than just being happy to tread water in the Championship like ourselves.

That said, there is no guarantee that will happen. As we've seen with Sunderland, Stoke, Watford etc, having Premier League ambitions means nothing with a poor managerial appointment. And if Alan thought the whinging and moaning here was bad with around 16k apathetic Nobbers, wait until 30k+ expectant Mackems get on the case when things go Pete Tong.

My interest and passion in North End has waned of late, I can't lie. Season upon season of let downs, same old, same old and no genuine plan from the hierarchy has left me feeling disillusioned, so I can't blame Browne for seemingly feeling the same.

That said, I don't think that will be the dream career move for him. Daniel Johnson, Ben Pearson and Bailey Wright are testament to that. A move to Italy or Turkey that he's been linked with and fair play, I get it, lifestyle change, and a good one at that. Even Celtic, huge club, European football and Irish connections, yeah I get it. But despite Sunderland's size and no doubt ambition, it does feel a bit if a meh move.

Something has clearly happened behind the scenes for him to go and take a pay cut, though I'm taking that bit with a pinch of salt . As much as I'm not at all in the "Lowe In" camp, I don't believe this is all on him. I just think perhaps the same apathy and soul drain we all feel has finally hit Alan as he's become one of us. I wish him all the best apart from he plays at Deepdale but I just don't think this is the right move for him.

Again, did you miss them getting playoffs immediately after being promoted?

They got closer to the Prem in one season at this level than we’ve managed in 16 years

Not suggesting they’ll make it but they’re a better bet than we are
Lets wait and see. They may be a bigger club but I don't think they will be any closer to the Playoffs next season than us.

See, you didn’t say next season, just that they wouldn’t get closer to the Prem than us. We are a perpetually boring midtable side whereas they will push, even if it’s not next year

I still think RL wanted to take the captaincy from him and that’s the biggest reason. That would have been humiliating after 10 loyal years. Then someone had the front to say Bauer was being disrespectful to Lowe and Ridsdale by staying here, that’s the depth of the sycophancy.

If a player wants to sit and ride out the contract that the club have given him then that's up to him. Issues like that only ever point back to bad business by the club. It's not on the player. If the club want to move him on then they have to pay up.

During the length of his contract with them then. Does that make it clear?

Everything on this thread is speculation/conjecture ( including my flippant remarks ) but one thing is abundantly clear.... Alan Browne did not leave PNE because he wanted more money, a longer contract and was trying to hold the club to ransom. We can dispel all that bollocks right now.

Who would I trust in all this? Browne or Ridsdale and Lowe ?..... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣🤣

Water under the bridge now and the best of luck to Browne from me. Ridsdale and Lowe will get karma this season ( especially Lowe ). Ridsdales that much of a snake I suspect he'll survive a long time after Lowe leaves because at the first sign of aggravation for himself he'll chuck Lowe under the bus.

Count on it.

Not sure they are a bigger or better club than us, they certainly have more fans which helps a lot, but that is more about geography than football.
From a player's point of view PNE is a decent club to play for, decent stadium, decent training facilities, reasonable pay structure.
The North West offers plenty of scope.
You have Manchester airport on your doorstep and can fly to anywhere from there.
You can hop on a train and be in London in a couple of hours.
Manchester gets all the top entertainment outside London, you have the Lakes, from the young single player to the older family guy living within easy reach of Euxton offers just about all your needs.
The main drawback could be the management structure but that is dependent on if you believe some of the rumours or not.
Another drawback could be if your kids like funfairs and you would have to suffer the odd trip to Bleakpool. ☹️

FFS, if you are a decent young footballer and Ridders is offering you the chance to play for this great club, you would be mad not to sign for PNE.🤣

PNE is a great place for players to come to, they may not have as many fans as some clubs but you won't find any more passionate or loyal anywhere.

Do I get the job? 👍🤣

You sure do.... Ridsdale falls for bullshit all day long. It's a trait that he recognises/admires in himself so sees it as a strength... 😀

Would be great to have a camera in the room as the guy walks in to be greeted by Ridders and Lowey and to listen to the speil they come out with in order to get a young guy to put his future in their hands!

Feels pretty safe to say that we've lost our best two players from last season because of the manager. Odd behaviour when your job is to win football games.

I'd say our current best two players are Riis & Frokjaer and he's put down and scapegoated both of them on numerous occasions. Wouldn't be shocked if both want out.
