Black life in America

A video has gone viral of a white woman calling the cops on a black man who simply asked her to leash her dog. The woman was in an area in New York City's Central Park known as the Ramble, where rules require that dogs be leashed.

The sister of the man who filmed the confrontation, Melody Cooper, explained that he had asked the woman to put her dog on its leash. When she refused to, he began filming.

I think the major problem here is that this nut may very well have continued insisting he was "threatening her life" which could in fact see him arrested at best or shot at worst if he hadn't been filming the outburst. I have no doubt this happens on a regular basis. It reminds of what happened a black man who was simply jogging recently.

She has been suspended at work and had the dog taken her offer pending full investigation

That is crazy!

That line where she is on the phone to the Police ''there is an African-American man'' - not a man, no, she felt the need to state specifically that he is African-American as if that was the issue and that this would alter the Police's reaction to it (I like to think it wouldn't have, but then this is the American Police so who knows).

I wonder what her reaction would have been if it was a white woman who had advised her of the dog lead issue.

Just wow..... There may have been more to this but i doubt it, she comes across as a hysterical nightmare, he isn't threatening her, the dog should be leashed for starters, the poor dog gets strangled by her dragging it around.... Just madness. I hope she isnt takwn seriously.. If i was related to her i would disown her....
This never happens on Moor Park....

Oh yeah.... Blimey. Well... Suppose if she acts like that then her employer will want damage limitation...... Utterly ridiculous.

I've just seen the video of a man being murdered by a policeman in Minneapolis. I didn't realise what it was and I'm absolutely horrified. America needs reform on this and fast.

Nothing is going to happen fast on an issue that has been ongoing in the US for centuries. And in a country presided over by something like Trump nothing will ever happen. If she hadn't been filmed during this outburst and cops had appeared before he and she had gone he would have been in custody at best or dead at worst.

You can be guaranteed there is no way she would have run this back with apologies if there were no evidence of her craziness. She would have continued insisting he was 'threatening her life'

Black people not cops need body cams to improve their chances of staying alive.

Tweet from her employers. She held a very highly paid executive position at an investment firm. Their wording wont help her pleading that there was no racism involved. The reality is she was attempting to have this man executed by cop for politely asking her to leash a dog.

There should be a specific serious charge which can be pressed for this type of thing above and beyond merely wasting police time. What she did was potentially life threatening for this man and she knew it.
