Oh
And Tories
Stabbing 3 kids to death in Southport isn't obvious?.... Mind you the authorities and his mental health will get the blame for that no doubt.
If there's any doubt whatsoever then I wouldn't advocate it. Letby being a good example as mentioned yesterday. Probably guilty but I wouldn't hang her. I'd have hung Brady, Hindley and West though.
I completely get what you are saying and sort of agree.
But are we saying that Letby should serve the rest of her life in prison because she “ probably “ killed those babies. That’s not how it works. She must be convicted beyond all reasonable doubt. Probably isn’t enough. So if she did do it beyond all reasonable doubt, as the jury decided , should she hang ? And if she did and the jury got it wrong. It’s a legal and moral minefield.
An interesting development in the Letby case (just piggybacking on your comment):I can't do anything about miscarriages of justice ( which there are many )....I certainly wouldn't advocate the death penalty for Letby unless it was proven on video or something similar so absolutely not ..... That's really not what I'm arguing.
All I'm arguing is that the likes of West, Hindley. Brady etc should have been put down immediately ( there are many more too). ie. Monsters who are caught red handed.......
The " minefield" is already in place and that's jailing people for life based on dodgy evidence, corruption, self preservation and clever barristers etc. I'd be a complete fool to defend that because we both know it happens and probably more than either of us would care to admit.
Aren't there cases of people who actually claim, falsely, that they committed the murder?
Under capital punishment, would their self-admission be taken as gospel and they be executed?
Why was it overturned?Conviction for 1990 murder quashed decades later Oliver Campbell's murder conviction overturned after 33 years

Sorry to go slightly off topic but, where have you been all this time? More importantly perhaps, why have you returned after so long?
Not judging, just curious.

Yes and there are loads of miscarriages of justice, I could quote tons ( without the ones that have never been overturned) .......... If you'd read the thread through properly you'd realise that not one poster has suggested capital punishment for all murder so your point ( although expected and predicted) is moot I'm afraid.
I have been able to read through the thread I started with great interest, with some good discussion that followed.
And hopefully food for thought to question our own perspectives and reflect on other opinions
