Club Takeover/Investment

I'm not exactly sure how?

Do you not think their US pull is that big? Reynolds especially is lauded in the US.

They are sponsored by Meta Quest who are worth $16 billion. We are sponsored by Parr Group who are worth £1.8 million.

We are in a completely different stratosphere to Wrexham.
Wrexham now have a 10%+ minority shareholder in the form of the Allyn Family who's net worth is actually more than the Hemmings.

The Allyn family is known for their philanthropy & community focused investments. All their interviews about the club and city exude excitement, pride and ambition.

It's the exact opposite of what we have at North End. Silent overload Kathryn with no interest in football or the city. An empty vessel Craig pretending to be his dad but with zero of the power. Plus sneering Peter collecting his endless bonuses & pension top-ups.

Wrexham are building something special. Top flight football will be attained one day. Whilst the North End hierarchy sit bone idle, unwilling to fund even the most basic of infrastructure - some of which we needed a decade ago. It's completely fucking joyless.

This may be totally irrelevant but,........recently I had a bit of unexpected spare cash come my way. I thought.... I should save this for my old age when I may need it. 1st thought and very sensible.
My 2nd thought was ...... hold on, I'm in my 70's! [I know, how did that happen? but it does and quickly and quietly] This is my old age! I'm actually inn time added on.
My 3rd thought was....NEW CAR!
Never had a brand new car. Bugger the depreciation, I'm having fun driving it and spending kids inheritance for them!

I suppose it is relevant because some people continue accruing pensions even beyond my age when they really have no need to, and I have not got a clue why?
Perhaps they have little imagination of what they can do with their time. Sad really.

So thought 4 was not ... give the Riddler a bell and ask him if Craig's interested in selling?

Don't forget they've had preseason tours in the US, while we were in Benidorm.

Point taken but don't you remember our famous pre season tour in the United States?😂

Circa 2007 under Paul Simpson. I think we played local sides...think Portland Timbers was one of our opponents. It was meant to have been poorly planned, shite training, squad ate junk food, jetlag, players and management falling out... basically a complete shambles and l think it was around that time when Simpson coined the phrase "bad apples" for players that spoke out about the "tour" and his training methods and alleged lack of attention to detail.

Was it Mellor and Mawene that couldn't play most of the games as they were on astroturf and it would have fucked their knees?

Seem to recall something like that yeah.

The whole trip was supposed to have been a complete shambles from start to finish.

When it comes to shit PNE managers, Simpson never appears to get the recognition, I think he deserves. In a little over 12 months he had a squad challenging for promotion to the Premier league, on the verge of relegation to the division below.

I remember moaning about him “ taking us backwards “ in 2007 after we had missed out in the Play Offs in 2006…..

Simpson came in from Carlisle and the job was always too big for him !!!

Through a lot of work connections at the time I knew loads of Carlisle fans and they it was worrying how few rated him after two back to back promotions. Namely because Karl Hawley and Michael Fucking Bridges up front during that tenure. A ridiculous strike force for league 2!

They were very surprised a club of our size came in for him. I can only imagine Derek did extremely little research on him as he certainly lacked charisma.

If you listen to the interview with Jake, he does actually defend his tenure pretty well but yeah, a fucking shite record. That window of Pavyl Pergyl and Michael Ricketts is enough to make PNE fans shudder.

I do have a small update, "there is an offer that has been received"

Could be the reason for lack of communication from the club at the moment.

My opinion on the matter is that the usual excuses will be made at some point about the situation.

Others on this forum could potentially know more information.

Everything crossed
They have got to accept an offer at some point if the “CEO” main focus is to sell the club surely

Tbh unless investors have serious money I'd be cautious.Only have to look at likes of Reading to see what can happen selling to someone who ultimately turns out bad .
Any change of ownership will have a certain amount of risk attached but I would suspect the majority would accept this providing some sort of due process has been undertaken.

From what he wrote in his chapter in one of the reminiscing books that came out a few years back- Grezza would totally agree with you. ( & fwiw- me). The numerous occasions that I wrote, quote " I blame Simpson " said it all.

The same brothers you’ve been mentioning for the last few week? Any other news you can share?
