Have a great time, would be interested in the old markets, as I have done a lot in Germany but it's all getting a bit samey.
Do you finish in Vienna? As that has been my favourite city at Christmastime (not been in Budapest at this time of year though).

We go from Budapest to Bratislava and then to Vienna ( it means nothing to me ) and then back to Budapest .....

If you get the chance, try Barua Street Food on Lake Road (it's a cafe during the day, but turns into an Indian street food place in the evenings - fantastic food), and directly across the road is The Pocket Cafe Bar. Brilliant place for beer & wine, and live music.

Yep. Tried all of them. Keswick is our “get away from it all” place. Lots of walking; decent pubs and a chance to relax 💙
