European Junior Rotax Go Karting Championships.

I think that link works, if you just click on the https://www. bit,
To add to becoming FIA world karting champion the other week, he has over the weekend just won the Ginetta 2024 Championships.
Struggled a bit over the weekend, but did enough to get over the line.
He gets his World karting trophy presented at the annual FIA awards ceremony by whoever wins this Seasons F1 championship, either Max Verstappen or Lando Norris, so he's excited about that!!
Made up for him!!

Bet you didn’t see all this coming when you started this thread

He's always had something special about him from the early days going to Manchester, as a 5 or 6 year old but, no absolutely not.
You always hope he would carry on with the early promise, but at the end of the day, he's still only a promising prospect and doesn't have anywhere near the funds most of his rivals have.
His Dad, has a good job, and helped him get to a certain stage, but he is in nowhere near the league other (proper wealthy) parents are.
Because of his talent and promise Ethan has, however, managed to gain some good sponsorship deals which have propelled him further. Hopefully that will continue.
Oliver Bearmanns parents for instance paid Ferrari £2 million pounds for him to go to Ferrari school.
That's proper advantage!!!

Just had quick glance at the former winners

- Tuukka Taponen: FDA driver and about to step into F3 full time after a competitive FRECA stint
- Norris
- De Vries (twice bizarrely)
- Oliver Oakes: New Alpine team boss
- Giedo Van der Garde
- Tonio Liuzzi
- Trulli
- Jan Magnussen
- Patrese

In some good company there

Actually looking at the Ginetta too:

- Freddie Slater, absolutely cleaned house in Italian F4 this year breaking the win record that Antonelli set
- Winning as a rookie is something neither Lando nor Jamie Chadwick managed

Brilliant, Thanks for that, much appreciated. I will show his Mum (Daughter).

Ethan is at Ferrari Headquarters this week, partaking in the World scouting (as in talent) camp at Maranello, Italy.
He is one of 4 drivers undertaking trials with Ferrari all week.
Alongside an Italian, a Belgian and an Australian.
Unfortunately i an not great at technology, tried to upload a link to Ferrari Driver Academy, if anyone else can do it, i'd be grateful (OB1?🙂).

Jock Clear and Jerome D’Ambrosio as a welcoming committee and Dino Beganovic as a benchmark. Not bad for an experience

Cheers for that (link), not sure how he's gone on today but initially he was as excited about his Ferrari Trainers as anything!!! 😀

Thanks OB1.
They have been in discussions for a few weeks now.
Apparently its roughly a million to race for the Season and Mercedes were prepared to put up 3/4 and Ethan and team find £250,000. He has a big sponsor from the owner of Fibre King and a few others so they have bridged the gap.

FML. And British F4 is marketed as the cheaper stepping stone for kids from karting to cars 😂

Any reason Merc are financing so much? Have they taken an interest in him? Assuming the FDA test day didn’t really go as he wanted it?

Not sure what happened about Ferrari & TBH I only get second hand info. Mercedes definitely have an interest as far as I understand it.
He has had other people offering to finance him but for a certain percentage of future earnings. I don't think they want to go down that route unless they really have too.

Ethan's just been to the FIA awards karting ceremony in Nice, France.
Pretty special occasion for him and us as a family.
F4 next.
Ps, volume might need turning on!!
One very brief photo of him with his Mum, my Daughter, Stephanie.
