Former PNE Players Thread

There's a Barnsley fan who lives just round the corner. He's very impressed with Josh Earl, less so with their manager, ex PNE man Neil Collins.
Looking in as a neutral, it looks like Collins is doing a decent job. Shades of Ryan Lowe?

Neil Collins had a longer career at a higher level.

Seeing Lewis Koumas score for Liverpool, tonight, reminded me of ex PNE foward, Steve Basham.

He got his leg snapped by Jason Koumas, Lewis’s dad, after an horrendous tackle at Deepdale in 2000. It was a straight red! The ref didn’t even book him. He never even apologised to Basham.

Remember that well. Was sat in the STFS, quite a way from the incident and swear I could hear the snap.

Horrible.

Koumas got pelters for years off PNE fans if I remember rightly.

I reckon we heard the snap as well, not seen it back and wouldn't if I could.

I hope the rumours about him not getting in touch or apologising at any time afterwards are false!

I can still recall hearing the snap of Bashams leg from the top of the STFS at the time. Shame, because Basham was flying at the time & was never the same player after. A truly awful challenge by Koumas... Good player mind

Koumas is/was a twat. In the reverse fixture at Prenton Park, he was, understandably, getting a lot of stick from the away support. At one stage in the game, he deliberately blasted the ball into the away fans section. Wanker.

Even if we wanted to or could bring his son here, he would probably block it. We detest him and it looked as though he detested us after all the stick we gave him.

Maguire scores a hattrick in Carlisle’s 13-0 Cumberland FA trophy game against Whitehaven - I’ll avoid making the obvious joke

If you ever want to see an example of faith, just remember somebody had a hattrick gif made up for Sean Maguire…
