Gentry Day Film!

A very good production of what Gentry Day is all about.
It needs to be ‘reclaimed’......you can here budgie almost pleading with some folk to understand what it’s about and how to behave like a Nobber on the day.

As we await news on this years Gentry Day have a watch on this film which has been producd by North End fans at WZ with UCLan of which I was delighted to take part in.

Personally I think it’s brilliant.

John

I sent you a PM but I'm not entirely sure how that system works....

Absolutely love gentry day and the uniqueness to us. We moan we don’t get media attention so, let’s turn up in numbers be very loud and very proud in our bowlers and make them want to look at us.

Brilliant, touching film. My biggest regret as a fan, I’ve never experienced a modern day Gentry Day. We remember those that have gone before us at the last home game every season. Doesn’t seem to match the atmosphere, camaraderie and outright celebration and joy of being a PNE fan on Gentry Day. Long may it continue, and may the message behind the occasion be spread ever wider in the football world.

Must be worth your media contacts trying to get Adrian Childs on board with this - he could facilitate some great publicity !

Frank Skinner of course is an option.....but A.C. is on most programmes at present.

Really enjoyed watching that, thanks for sharing JD. I haven't been to a Gentry Day game yet although I was at Bolton for the Flat Cap Day, but I am looking forward to going on a Gentry Day game.

There are some very moving moments contained in this. What a wonderful widescreen photo (2 mins in) of the 1964/5/6 squad members. Passing time and young memories can play tricks on the mind, but it's astonishing, for those who recall him, to see a picture of a somewhat lithe and svelte Alex Dawson, not carrying much weight at all! I think only Mel Holden is missing from that squad. Do the players have a dedicated lounge for themselves? I wonder if it would be possible to put this film on one of the screens which I'm sure, decorate their environment. This is not a criticism at all, but I think it's lacking a contribution from the many players who have passed through the gates of Deepdale in the intervening years. It's supposed to have meant a lot to them, and it might bring it home even more to the present squad, just how much the Gentry ideal means to PNE.
