The council will probably end up mothballing it again for years and then say it will be uneconomical to repair it.

Sadly l can only see one outcome to this, the whole building will be demolished and be replaced by cheap housing/flats.

I can only see it ending up being flattened, time will only take more of a toll on it and the toll is perhaps already insurmountable.

As for flats, etc .... pfft well I know where you're coming from, seems it's all that happens in the city centre these days bar the Animate development.

All towns & cities need an event centre though, something to help drive the day and evening economies and to bring some dynamism.

Preston is pitifully without in this regard with the Guild Hall out of action and it's likely inevitable demolition.

Which is very sad when you think of the folks who lost their life building the place

Replace it with a Sphere like in Las Vegas.

When do they ever build cheap housing in the centre of Preston? It'll be wanky flats that nobody can afford. So, money laundering like all the nail bars, mobile phone repair shops and American candy stores.

Sorry, didn't make it clear....cheap as in cheapy built cardboard walls, last 10 minutes kind of thing.

Coincidentally, been into the Library in the Guildhall arcade today and it was an absolute ghost town of a place. Sad to see.

Is there any news about this place?
Or is it "Time" for it now they've found that dodgy concrete ?
( Note, that hasn't closed down any Schools permanently - has it ? )
