I’ve never ignored anyone on here. Whilst I understand why people do select ‘ignore’, perhaps those who do might consider just how open-minded they really are.
I’m aware of at least one person who had me on ignore and the minute he did it, the less I valued his opinion.

I'm ok with Reg having me on ignore tbh, I have no idea what their opinion is on anything anyway as I've never got to the end of the tedious & overly long bullshit they post.

Never bothered me, to be honest - I have no right to demand that people listen to what I say or like me. Just as in real life, if I don't get on with someone, think they are boring, or find them obnoxious and disruptive, I tend to wander away from them. It is the same online and folk can choose to engage with whoever they want. Sometimes, undoubtedly, people use ignore to hide from opinions they do not like - however, much of the time it is because they don't want to see post after post of abuse and swearing, find a poster's views abhorrent, or find themselves dragged into arguments/slanging matches that waste time and energy. Don't forget that we almost lost this politics forum because people didn't walk away from a fight.

One of the arguments against censorship is that people don't have to read/watch/listen - the ignore ability is simply an 'off switch.'

Ben Gvir threatening to pull his party out of the government. We can only hope:

An absolute shitbag.

The silver lining is that the Israeli people will finally be rid of the naziesque govt that was imposed on them by default.

Im not using the term, "Nazi," lightly either. Its the closest ive seen in my lifetime.

I only have 3 people on ignore currently….

I do it so that I don’t have to read their repetitive utterings on subjects that I am not interested in…

Says the man who used to constantly talk about his 3 goals in one game. 😂
I have “ retired “ that particular story now….

I personally am very wary of using that term to describe anything Israeli due to the history and loaded nature. Comparing the likes of Ben Gvir and Smotrich with the Young Turks, on the other hand - that I have no problem with. The same zeal, desire for ethnic cleansing, and a state based upon their vision of ideological purity. The Israeli government spent far too long appeasing these fanatics.

A fair comparison, and i understand that reluctance too.

Lets just hope the latest moves spark the end of this for the Israeli people or will holding onto power be all consuming?

I wonder what happens after the ceasefire? Yes they have to rebuild, folks will return to their areas, but it can never be “as you were”. The Palestinians need a better ruling party than Hamas and a lot of re educating needs to be done.
They do - the problem is that the Palestinian Authority are the other end of the scale and are not trusted either by Palestinians. Partly due to corruption, but partly because they are seen as useless - the Israeli settlements in the West Bank have continued to expand under their watch. If Hamas go, the Palestinians need a government that can work - and that may mean international support for removing settlers and protecting Palestinians from them.
