January 2023 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

He was starting every week before his bad injury I think. Would've probably played a bit for Wales in the world cup aswell so don't see that as a serious option.

Perhaps if they sign a few new CMs, guys like Norwood and John Fleck will be available but again wages and they might just fancy hanging around as prem squad players which I wouldn't blame them for.
Think Lowe is their first choice, as OB says, and I think they'll probably look to improve on him for the Prem. So can't see Norrington getting a kick, no idea what he'd cost with 12 months left, but I suspect he'll be back in the Championship next season, on loan or otherwise.

Its probably unlikely we'll be paying a fee for anyone though. A loan with a view to a permanent would probably be our best bet.

Would've said Max Lowe, he's done the rounds of top end championship with Derby, Forest and Sheffield United without ever being a regular starter at any of them.

Jayden Bogle is still there aswell. Wasn't good enough last time out to get in ahead of Baldock at prem level so again someone who did well at Derby 3-4 years ago and is still reasonably young and is top end championship quality.

These are the signings a side serious about promotion would be making anyway.

Probably end up with Billy Sharp on a 3 year deal.

Think Billy Sharp will be still knocking goals in for some Sheff Unt team when he's into his 80's. 🤣

For some reason I expect us to have a good window without huge transfer fees.

Picking up good loans and out of contract players such as the lad from Blackpool etc.
all you need to do is have a good look at the out of contract players in the championship this season, Joao, Ogbene, Barnes, Da Silva, Vyner etc. Some absolutely quality players available.

Very highly doubt any of them will come here. 95% of clubs will have the same ideas this summer and with money being at a low for most clubs they’ll all be on the same free agents. We’ll be nowhere near the offers they’ll be getting from other clubs.

we will see, these players will definitely be getting snapped up as soon as their contracts do expire in late June, we just have to ask the question and move on when they deny our offers.

I'd be looking to pick up Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu from Fleetwood this Summer while he's still fairly under the radar and before he progresses and goes for decent money.

Is that Morgan Rodgers on loan at the lashers any good?, he looks like someone who can carry the ball well. Probably not the right fit for us though you would think.

No

Can you imagine the spellings on here

We need 4 strikers. Apparently good news about Ched's surgery and Riis I read is ahead of schedule.

We should have already approached Barnes, it would be ridiculous if we didn't go for him. He's an absolute shithouse, he'd be an instant hit here.

Dream would be having Ched, Barnes, Riis and Cannon as options. Two experienced hard fuckers with strength and quality with two young, quick lads with bags of quality as well. Not budget busting either, Riis and Ched already here, Barnes would want decent money and Cannon on loan. If Everton want to keep Cannon I'd be happy to see Delap come back, we've definitely not seen the best of him but I've just got a feeling he will come good.

Realistically though, we have to assume Evans is finished and Riis could be out for the first 4 months of the season or more.

So adding "an absolute shithouse" and a Prem kid on loan to that "strikeforce" still leaves us with the burning question of who's going to score all the goals.
