Confirmed Jayden Meghoma (Loan - Brentford)

Suspect it all depends on how well he does for the rest of the season. If he smashes it and better options appear he will go there, if he is ok and still has a bot of development to do then he may stay for another year.

When I have looked at Brentford’s teams during games they tend to show them playing 3 at the back, no idea if that is accurate but that could be potentially good as they may want him to develop in the wing back role and with not many teams playing it could give us the edge

Yeah, so it would be best for us if Meghoma isn't too spectacular this season, and just keeps us plodding along in mid-table, without attracting any attention from other suitors.

Luckily he's at the perfect club for that to happen.

I like this guy but I don't think he's doing much better than Kian Best did in his early games, defensively. Jointly responsible for us conceding two goals so far.

Sent for a lolly by Burgzorg and allowed Dolan to cross too easily.

Got an assist on his debut.

See I think he’s been good defensively, it’s just asking way too much asking him as a 18 year old making his first senior starts to be playing a position he’s never played before which involved him bombing up and down the pitch, and to play him completely unprotected against a winger and an overlapping full back in both games so far.
We’re hanging him out to dry with this stupid formation, leaving him 2v1 every time

He looks far more suited to being a LB with a winger in front of him because he’s a good 1v1 defender but he’s stuck playing as a LWB

He has played it before as been played there a handful of times in the England youth setup.

But the vast majority has been at LB. Which would be the case for most players that are English tbf. But he is the right profile to play as a LWB, just needs more game time and experience.

Just another stopgap because the club refuses to buy any actual wing backs despite the fact that we have played a 5 at the back system for about 5 seasons now.

I know he’s only young and it’s early days, and he may be carrying an injury, but I’m not overly convinced by him. Feels like another we’ve got a year too early. Struggled again today against 113 year old Gareth McLeary and a 22 year old centre back playing RB

At the very least, it’s abundantly clear he is not a wing back. He offers very little going forward, doesn’t look confident on the ball and doesn’t last more than an hour. Desperately needs to play in a back 4 with a winger for support

I’m sure he’ll do well for us for the rest of the season but one thing is for certain. I think it would be pretty idiotic of us to give up arguably our most prized academy asset in return for a LWB on a season long loan who we have no chance of signing permanently.

At this point in time, certainly wouldn't be giving up one of our brightest prospects to have Meghoma on loan for next year. Think Joe Rafferty would've done more attacking playing there today

Wycombe did a great job on our wide players. Potts produced very little and even Kesler-Hayden didn't make much impact offensively, albeit he wasn't on his best side.

Never heard of him before but their LB Dan Harvie was probably man of the match.

People over rate best too much. It seems like he has a bad attitude. I predict he will be playing in non league within two-three years.

If you are getting out run by the manager in training then he doesn’t deserve a new contract. I would bring in two left backs in the summer - a loan and a permanent.

I think they're referring to the younger Mawene.

Doesn’t mawene play in a different position than meghoma though.
I only assumed they meant best as he is out of contract end of this season.
It has been suggested that we'd be in a favourable position to loan Meghoma again next season if we were to do business with Brentford with a deal involving T. Mawene.

Bloody hell people thought he was the second coming of Jesus after Watford. He had a poor game like 99% of the rest of team yesterday. The lad is 18 years old he is going to have ups and downs! What we shouldn’t be doing is relying on 18 year old loan players to come in and have to hit the ground running but here we are… again!

Maybe the shape at Watford suited him just like it seemed to suit all the others?
PS; Dont know if it’s been mentioned but we are lucky ball 4️⃣ tomorrow.

You right mate it probably did. I also think the pitch is a massive issue at the minute. I know you can say it’s the same for both teams. But with how poor we are technically on the ball we need the pitch to be perfect like Watford’s was. Soon as we play on a dodgy pitch we look so uncomfortable when we are trying to pass into feet.
