I think we’ve been scammed….
When we signed Bayliss for a lot of money it seemed very odd, considering how strong we were in midfield at the time. Then we saw him play and it seemed even weirder.

This Okkels deal looks equally as bizarre, but even worse cos he's doesn't strike me as a LWB in the slightest.

Why were we splurging all our budget on a left midfielder / slow winger, when Lowe played 3-5-2 almost religiously. I think the fanbase deserve this whole deal scrutinized, if we end up being lumbered with him for another 2.5 seasons.

Makes me wonder if this Okkels deal going through was one reason why Lowe jumped after one just league game. That decision was also rather odd in itself.

Technically, he's still our player? I sincerely hope the whole true story surfaces of how the lad ended up at North End.

Yeah, but I doubt he'll ever turn out for us. When Aberdeen send him back, Ridsdale will want to get rid as soon as possible, to anyone who'll have him, all undisclosed bids accepted.

Every minute he's still here is a big fat reminder that Ridsdale isn't a Director of Football, but just a baffled old bloke in a big bench coat, cosplaying.

Okkels may be pocketing a good wage but the blokes confidence must be in his boots.
Maybe Aberdeen are covering his wages but his form is most likely just going to get worse.

Ideally he could do with dropping a division or 2 , getting some successful game time and we can move him on or else we are stuck with an unhappy out of form player till his contract runs out.

A proper mess….

Well he's playing against Elgin City from the 4th tier of Scottish football at the weekend...

1st time I've really seen Okkels for any length of time & judging by that, now more than ever, PR needs to justify why we signed the lad.

He looks absolutely hopeless & that's being kind.

Said it before, where is the accountability for Ridsdale?

If this was a 'club signing' and he is the 'streamlined' transfer department, the buck HAS TO stop with him.

Why was it allowed to go through? How on Earth was it allowed to go through?

I have nothing against Okkels - I actually feel quite sorry for him - but his signing, without a manager in place, without proper understanding on his actual abilities - is negligence of the highest order.

If this was any other industry and someone spent the entire £1.7m budget on something we didn't need, didn't have a plan for, and is shifted off the books less than 6 months after signing, people would be fired.

The Curious Case of Jeppe Okkels.

When he signed, I had high hopes for the lad and his numbers for Elfsborg looked quite decent. Although we all wanted Wallem of the two. Looks like I was wrong along with a few others.

Alas! Poor Jeppe, it just hasn't worked out for one reason (position) and another (tactics). Can't comment on his ability because we haven't seen him play a length of games nor him being match fit.

Ridsdale had better have a bloody good answer, to the fans and the board, why £1.7m was spent on a player who is our 2nd most expensive player ever and whom cannot get a game here. Based upon this, Ridsdale's position should now be untenable.

I bet he regrets signing for us. Another 2 1/2 years of bench warming at best. Unless he performs the most amazing Lazarus impression.

Easily in our Top 6 Worst Transfers of All Time due to cost.

In no real order...

Bayliss
K Nicholls
Ashbee
Trotman
Pringle
Okkels

Thank you Ridsfail.

When he does eventually get quizzed about it unfortunately he's had plenty of time to get his story straight which will no doubt conclude it wasn't his fault.

Watching him last night I remembered something that I got told months ago (friend of a friend's pet goldfish read it on Wiki etc) about Jeppe and thought nothing of it at the time but I heard he was a really lovely lad and clearly a talented footballer, however they said the problem is that he's a real simpleton who hasn't the capacity to take in detailed technical instructions at the higher levels of the game. Something Hecky is massive on is detail and individual roles in games...

Having watched the last two games now, it does look like Jeppe is away with the fairies and in his own little world half the time. Doesn't look unfit (like say Josh Bowler) and he's clearly trying hard but does keep running away from the ball or making odd decisions. That second half I swear the Aberdeen players were deliberately avoiding passing to him even when there was an easy ball on. Was he not doing the job he was told to?
