Confirmed Josh Harrop Leaves Preston North End

The boy quite obviously has ability or talent whatever you want to call it he's just failed to apply it.

Absolutely question his attitude, commitment etc etc but IMHO there's no doubt he's got ability,
If you enjoy watching someone with no pace, no dribbling ability, no tactical awareness, no drive, unable to play in any formation (unless the other 10 players make up for his lack of involvement) then yes I can see why you'd appreciate his talents.

His only ability was striking a ball from 25 yards if put under zero pressure. There are plenty of guys on park football who can do that.

Harrop was an abomination of a player with no notable features other than his absolutely cringe worthy goal celebration which thankfully we were largely spared from seeing.

Dismaying but not surprising. Harrop does have talent and his development was, I think, impeded by the dour and not very inspiring AN. But Harrop has shown a lack of force of character and I would not be surprised if the reality is that he became demoralised to the point of being depressed. I was hoping RL might just be able to retrieve him for us but it was not to be. Maybe Harrop can rescue his career somewhere else. Hopefully he can.

A sad but inevitable outcome. He once looked possibly a player of the ability to build our team around. I'm guessing alot of the speculation around why he dropped off a cliff is pretty accurate. Interesting to see what his next move will be.... If he bothers !

Josh owes us no explanation. He was offered a 3 year contract on a big wages, I don’t think we can criticise him for signing it.

We also can’t begrudge him for not leaving to play elsewhere for a lot less money. No one else would do that in their job.

The fault should be placed on the people who run the club and make the decisions. Not Josh.
Actually he could have left to play elsewhere for exactly the same money.

Possibly the difference between us signing a RWB and not signing a RWB…..
Not really. Josh had a contract so we could either pay him monthly over the next year or chuck him a wedge now (hopefully negotiating down a little) and tell him to be on his way. No real difference in cost over the year.
