Lancashire Cricket 2024

Luke Wood and Phil Salt both got late call ups for the IPL so we’re at the bare bones with Livingstone and Buttler already there and Stanley, Blatherwick and Mahmood injured. Bruce and Lyon will both be available for the opener a week on Friday to mitigate their loss slightly but our bowling attack almost picks itself - Williams, Bailey, Balderson, Lyon and probably Aspinwall (who’s taken a fair few wickets in the friendlies).

For the batting, just choose from all the keepers! We’ve got Jennings, Wells, Bohannon, Bruce, Bell presumably and another - Hurst or Lavelle maybe. We've got enough to get by on I think but any injuries and we’re more than a bit stretched.

I’ve assumed Hartley and Anderson won't be available.

If we don't get a dry spell in the next couple of weeks I don't think think there will be any worries about the squad. Even if you and I are opening the batting.

Although a contract was signed for the whole season, this outcome was always going to be more than likely. Hopefully they’ll be well on the way to naming a replacement but the T20 World Cup is going to make a major star signing unlikely. Presumably this is why they put a recall option on Jack Morley.

A lot of plant is now on site for building the new ground. It’s slowly starting to look like the outline of what it will become.

Went past the other day. They are doing some major excavation, looks like an open cast mine.

Living in Euxton, we drive past the site of the new ground quite often....

As you say , there must be about 20 mechanical diggers working on it...

When they boot the 4 day game to the nether regions of the season to play countless meaningless slog games suspect long term this will be solely a ground for 4 day games
