He was ok but I thought Osmajic should have been man of the match.

I only listened, but it would have had to be a stand-out performance for anyone to have surpassed Millie, based on what I heard. I guess Gibson got the gong to look good in the papers.

It did sound like, as a defence, we gave up too many chances... but clearly Gibson will need to settle in, and Holmes being part of that defence is never going to fill me with confidence. Sounded like Lewis was solid... which I am delighted with.

Would Gibson suit being the centre CB in a 3 man CB, or would he be better as our LCB? I haven’t seen him play so don’t know where he best suited for us especially when we play with 3 CB?

He can do both - he was in the centre of the 3 last night.

Surely a decent wide centre-back should be perfectly comfortable in the central rolw as well? Or else you'd question whether they should be defender at all. The defensive aspects of the role are similar, you'd just perhaps a wide centre back to be more comfortable on the ball and with better passing ability.

The "centre only" players, as we've seen with Lindsay on several occasions, look utter shit when expected to take on the wider role. If we are to progress we need to move away from these one-dimensional players and replace them with defenders who can actually play football a bit. Hopefully Gibson is the start of this but, as I've said elsewhere, I have absolutely no faith in the club to carry out this change.

its about opinions..... but based on 1 game he has everything Lindsay doesnt have....especially pace and recovery tackles but none of the things Lindsay does have such as dominant heading and clearing set pieces....which Charlton had a few corners and long throws that went unchallenged in the first half...... so I'd say LCB...

being honest though it was Storey who struggled most all first half,,,with their fast winger.... absolutely no idea why Nathan Jones swapped him 2nd half to play through to centre and give Storey some respite....

Behave, no referee is sending a player off for that sort of handbags when they’re already on the yellow. They just balance it out by not yellowing either - which is exactly how the game should be refereed

Oh I agree but more often than not it doesnt happen that way.

Last nights ref was very good, IMHO

I thought the new lad had a very decent debut last night and can only see him improving as he becomes more accustomed to the coaching and settles in to his new life up here. He does appear to have pace which is a blessing and overall I thought his positional play was also good (especially for his 1st outing). Overall i thought we were pretty poor last night against a very good L1 team, I’m surprised they are not higher in the table? They have some decent players who look like they could step up a level?

I didn’t see the fracas at the end as being a shit fan, I left a tad early as I had an early start today, something I don’t do normally.
Anyway good debut in my opinion, he can only strengthen what we currently have in defence.
Woodman (I’m his biggest critic by the way, I don’t rate him) should be applauded he made a couple of very good saves last night, one close the end I saw on the highlights reel. But as Roy Keane says that’s his job I guess?
