Loanwatch 24/25

It's that time again!

Only loanee so far is Kaedyn Kamara out at Workington Town.

He appeared to play the full 90 this evening, in a 1-1 draw against a Lancaster City side containing former PNE lads Lewis Coulton and Jacob Holland-Wilkinson.
Lancaster scored in the 95th minute. Tom Wilkinson, who was in the youth team last year, played for Workington tonight.

Playing in central midfield and wearing 11 he didn't get a touch of the ball in the 5mins worth of highlights, however the Workington match report says "young debutant Kaedyn Kamara made a great contribution". Was caught appealing for a ball out of play for the equaliser when possibly he could have got closer to the goalscorer to put a tackle in but can't really say he was at fault. Good to see him play the full match!

Workington supporter here, Kamara had a solid game ,tackled anything that moved in a very physical game looks like he will impress in an extremely competitive division. Wilkinson signed in the summer and has settled in excellently, big strong lad surprised he wasn’t given another year . Hopefully you can send up some others as the season goes on because Paul Simpson at Carlisle seems to want to hold on to young lads with no intention of giving them minutes

Would not be surprised to see you get Kitt Nelson back and/or another youngster Kian Taylor we have who needs a loan to that sort of level. He's a versatile defender/midfielder/fullback but was out most of last year with a broken arm that needed a couple of operations.

What happened with Kitt last year? Seemed to have a great start with you at #10 getting goals and assists, found himself shunted out wide which isn't his position and then dropped to your development squad for an amateur cup game and not really seen since?

Kitt Nelson was excellent when he first arrived and played well regularly until just after Christmas when the reds as a team went into a state of collapse and a long losing run not helped by the then manager Danny Grainger announcing that he was seeing his contract out and leaving. Would have Nelson back but probably wouldn’t fit into a more direct style that the Mark Fell/ Graham Lancashire team play. Will be at the home game v Leek Town Saturday so expecting young Kaeden to be growing in confidence

Graham Lancashire, there's a blast from the past.

He's a feisty one! Expect plenty of yellows and a few reds if you get him for the season...

I think we let the wrong CB go imho.

Again battled hard and competed for everything ,still adjusting to the intensity and pressure of this level and was caught in possession a few times but a solid performance in a team that’s also adjusting to a new style. The games come thick and fast so away at Prescot on Tuesday Ashton away Saturday then Hebburn home Monday

How's young Tom Wilkinson been getting on so far?

A man of the match performance for Kaedyn

It sounds to me that some of the criticism of Lowe for giving this lad a contract might be a little unfounded. I know the level is way below ours but we’ve had players go to this level and perform poorly many times. Early days though.

It's Kaedyn's discipline which is the real concern. Once he grows in confidence at this level, it will flare up.

BTW - Am I the only one who sees a very young Carlton Palmer in him?
