I might offer a couple of recommendations here then. There are many decent US craft breweries, some even make decent lagers. I am reasonably partial to Crux, Double Mountain and Away Days in Oregon, Other Half, Torch and Crown, in New York, New Galrus in Wisconsin, Christ, even Iowa has Topling Goliath.

Even some of the big boys make a decent beer, New Belgium, Brooklyn, Deschuttes etc.

The days of US beer being weak piss colored water are long gone.

No doubt way better than it used to be, but still myself prefer something like a Duvel or similar.

New Belgium is solid though especially their Voodoo Ranger.

Hopefully that unit in the Miller Arcade doesn't just sit empty for years.

Could see them moving into the 'We don't give a fork' premises? If it's still vacant. I can take or leave burgers really, but I did enjoy the one I had there. Not keen on the beer they sell though.

Tbf, that's bollocks. Czech beers are excellent, I agree, as are German Beers, Belgian beers and English Ales and cider, it just depends on individual taste. For me, it also depends a lot on where I am, what the occasion is and what the weathers like. Drinking outdoors in hot weather for example, an ale simply isn't the right beer, that's where ciders and Czech style beers come into their own.

Have to disagree with that, there's pale ales which are ideal.

The Golden Tap one near the train station has lovely ales as well mate.

Leyland Town has some great independents now. Fat Sam's really good at what it does too.

Aye. I'd rather be teetotal than drink English ale.
