I've been thinking lately, and I can't recall instantly liking a new manager as much as Paul Heckingbottom. I'm not exactly sure why, but he just seems like a really likeable person, which is a refreshing change. Of course, only time will tell how the team performs on the pitch.
Interesting that he seems to be planning two or three transfer windows ahead - promotion push next season perhaps? Promotion is clearly what he's looking to achieve here.

Lets give The Riddler some credit here for this appointment. Clearly shows he has the club at heart.
Superb podcast. Can't wait for the second half. I listened today and also to Gallies which was also very good, I would like to see Gally return as a coach in come capacity in the future.
Hecky is looking like a superb appointment and how lucky are we to have secured his services. he was obviously in demand but right from the off he wanted to be here. I just hope he gets backed in the next 2 windows I can only see great things with his appointment.

Is that why he spent four and a half hours trying to talk Lowe out of walking, because he has the club at heart?
I don't think so.
If it had been down to The Riddler we’d have still been saddled with Lowe.

It wouldn’t surprise me if PH was quite happy with only buying Bowler in that last week of the transfer window.
It does make sense for him to get to know the squad and the development potential of individual players before deciding where the money is best spent.
They need to open the wallet for him in January though and give him a fighting chance. He a good manager who knows how to challenge at the top end and win promotion, but he’s not a miracle worker.
Can't see too much happening in January. Probably be next summer.
