Post your gigs.

Just booked Embrace for Sat Nov 16th at Manc Academy.

Not seen them since March 6th 2020, a week before the 1st lockdown.

Still got the following to come.

GlastoFerret - Aug 22-25 - Deja Vega my main highlight on that bill.
Goldie Lookin' Chain - The Ferret - Sat Sept 7
Radio 2 Preston - Sun Sept 8
Embrace - Manc Academy - Nov 16

Sure another couple of gigs will emerge before the years end.

It would be madness to think that PNE will beat the Blades on Aug 9th but I shall actually be watching Madness at Custom House Square in Belfast at the time!

Did the Richard Ashcroft gig at Piece Hall Halifax last Friday.... He was definitely on form. A great gig & it was my first one at Piece Hall...What a venue ! Halifax was surprisingly a good place to go out for a few beers...Especially in the sunshine... Wythenshaw Festival for me next

So Oasis

Torn between thinking it’ll be costly and maybe ruin the memories, or you’d be stupid to pass up the opportunity

Made a point of avoiding the fuckers before and I won’t be altering my stance!

#blur

In saying that, I probably should have gone to see them at the Hull Adelphi back in the day.

Still, I got to see the Drop Nineteens there…..

I may have backed the wrong horse.

I’ll be disappointed if they reform, purely down to the fact I’ll no longer be able to say I saw the last ever oasis gig anymore!
I’ve seen them both doing their solo stuff over the last few years, and the only time the crowd gets interested is when they do the oasis stuff, none of their new stuff has been any good. I’m sure they’ll get a decent pay day out of this, but it’s just going to be a load of middle aged men at the gigs trying to relive their youth, I won’t bother trying to get tickets for a reunion tour

I’m going to see the Pixies and Ride within the next seven days.

I shall stay well clear of those middle aged men trying to relive their youth.

An REM reunion still sounds very unlikely and it’s got to the point where I’m probably hoping they stick their guns.

REM by Stipe are pretty good. Had a word with the band in the bar the first couple of times I saw them and banged on about World Leader Pretend - they’d added to the their set next time I saw them!

I'm hoping REM will stick to their guns, even when they tease with small shows where they have been in the same room but not on stage at the same time. I would be so disappointed if they were ever to reform.

Stipe are coming to Bamber Bridge FC in November. The tickets are free but you have to apply. Search for the Big gig in brigg.

Get yourselves down to that gig lads.

They are well worth a night out but the singer is a bit of a drama queen if he isn’t shown enough love by the crowd!

As I mentioned on here at the time, they played a cafe at a kids’ park on the sea front in Bangor on a freezing January night and he asked the crowd (about 50 tops) if we even liked REM.

Me and the wife started cheering and the rest of the gig was a great laugh, if somewhat surreal because I could see out of the window a load of swan rides tied up in the swimming pool waiting for the Easter hols!

I was sat in front of an unplugged slush machine iirc.

I saw the Bamber Bridge event on FB a few months ago but I could not see a mention on Stipe's own website so wondered if it was some kind of scam and ignored it for a bit before I eventually joined the FB group and messaged the organiser. True to his word the tickets arrived about a month ago and I'm very much looking forward.

No Guiggsy, Bonehead or Alan White so not really Oasis for me. Having said that I’m under pressure from my kids who loved Blur last year and are keen to compare and contrast what all the fuss was about back in the day

That’s a good point actually, although I believe Bonehead has been playing with LG so you never know.

I can ask Andy Bell if he’s been told to keep some dates free at the Limelight in Belfast next Monday night.

Not had any kids (yet) but I reckon hearing one tell me they prefer Oasis to Blur would be worse than them telling me they were Blackpool fans!
