Real Madrid v Liverpool

In fairness I didnt know anything of that,

They were horrible that years for football and were years that stopped my travelling to away games, it all became to much hassle and got fed up of living in fear just for a footy game.
They were, seemed like something terrible was happening every week for a while

Funny , on social media and MSM

The pro-EU, anti UK type people are those not believing the French in this situation

And the Brexit lovers, pro UK are believing the French on this one...

Likelihood is the truth is part of both.

Fans turned up without tickets. A minority took a chance to get in. Thereafter the police over handled the actual fans with tickets.

Salah had opportunities in this match, and he missed them. Apparently, he lacked skill. And Liverpool's defense missed the goal, not the goalkeeper - they didn't play well. But that's just my opinion.

Hi everyone, let me join your forum.

The only ones I've seen saying that are pne fans on here who somehow see Liverpool as our rivals. Its all really odd.
Raef... I'll stress that I have NEVER seen Liverpool as any form of rival to PNE. The only way that would ever happen is if we were regularly playing them at their level. That has never happened in my life time. HOWEVER for my entire lifetime I have been a PNE fan who has witnessed the fact that our club's fan base has been directly impacted by the sheer volume of glory hunting Liverpool & Man United fans that have infested our city and the surrounding area for decades. Glory hunters that revel in the success of clubs associated with a place that they have no affinity with and view their home town club with disdain. The scenes in Leyland on a Saturday evening following their FA Cup Final " win " were vomit inducing. Rivals? ..... No.... Annoyances, who I wouldnt hesitate in celebrating any form of major loss or demise?.... Completely !

Back on topic, this is worth a read. It seems to me that the police had a complex problem to sort out and bottled it, making the situation worse. Note the bit about "local youths" storming the gates.

What happened at the Champions League final?

I'm no fan of Liverpool but posters on here jumping on the bandwagon to have a go at Liverpool fans without knowing the true facts was a disgrace imo.

I’m just watching the story on BBC news now….

Lots of fake tickets were being circulated and a large number of locals tried to infiltrate the Liverpools fans - unfortunately, it was the perfect storm for trouble..

Interesting to note though LiS that half of those arrested were British so Liverpool fans not completely innocent..

For the record, I never pointed the finger at the Liverpool fans……

I didn't say you pointed the finger at anyone Ando.

I'm not saying the Liverpool fans were free from blame but everything I've read about this suggests they were provoked in the extreme, the French authorities seem to have got everything wrong.

I had problems at the ground a few years back.

They couldn’t get the fans in on time due to extra security checks when terrorism was rife.

It was rugby though so I don’t think the police bothered to pack any tear gas.

In fairness I have that type of annoyance with so called man u fans 🙂

I dont believe our fanbase has been impacted by either of these clubs, though. If it wasnt these 2 clubs it would be others. We saw that when Rovers had success. Bottom line they will never be PNE fans because they dont understand, nor ever will, the concept of what supporting a club actually is.

I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree on this mate. Our support has been impacted by Liverpool & Manu over the decades and the simple fact is both of these clubs are half an hours drive away from us. Fully agree with you though, that these "Preston Red " Amoebas will never know what it is like to fully support a football club
