Relegation candidates

Just seen Gérard has left Saudi. Wonder if one of them bottom teams are about to pot their manager to employ another name (like Plymouth and Rooney).

I'll be surprised if Pompey don't stick with Mousinho. Swansea might get rid of Williams soon but can't see them going for Gerrard. Although is American owners and they love that kinda shit.

Only other one this is left is Derby, but they were my early prediction of who Lowey's next club will be 😄 Gerrard might think that's too beneath him.

They had a 'big' meeting earlier this week. An announcement was supposed to be made afterward but we heard nothing. I'm led to believe Williams has three games to turn things around. There are also rumours that he has lost the dressing room. Grimes leaving and Darling is refusing to sign a new contract all adds fuel to the fire. In terms of a new manager, I have a feeling that they might go for Alan Tait / Joe Allen combo.

Yeah Grimes posted this at the start of the year. And has now left. Definitely stuff going on. Seems since the WBA apparent interest where Williams was seemingly very keen to go, it's gone up shit creek.

I get to watch them fairly regularly, and week after week, players have been underperforming, and the manager has been very quick to throw them under the bus. It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation: which came first, poor performances or poor coaching?

This little run we are on imo keeps us safe. I’m confident we can get 13-15 needed in 17 games…. Our home form has us solid and we are picking up away points recently.

Plymouth derby and either Luton/ Pompey to go down with Swansea and Cardiff not far off

Sounds awfully familiar

6th place is currently on schedule for about 70points. Bit lower than normal but its quite a congested league this season so more teams are taking points off one another.

Hull need at least 40 points off 17 games - the equivalent of 108 points a season. In short - absolutely no fucking way. People really don't think these things through!

We'd need at least 33 so circa 2ppg. Again, aint gonna happen. We could feasibly catch Boro but we'd also need to catch and pass the other 8 teams between us and them.

3 more wins and we'd be as good as safe in my opinion.

If we can't make the play offs then Hull 100% won't.

They need to go on a 5/6 game winning run to even get close and Selles hasn't won back to back games yet.

Derby, Swansea, Plymouth.

PNE mid table again thanks to Fat Controller. He knows about as much about football as Hazel from accounts knows about financial dealings

Very slim chance of us getting relegated now, with the points we have on board compared to games played.
However at this stage its not impossible, albeit unlikely.
At this point we could just as easily put a run together to get into the playoffs as get relegated.

However, whilst mid 40's does often see you safe.
Birmingham, Peterborough and Leicester around 2008 ish all got relegated with over 50 points.
One of my all time amusements is Blackpool in the 80's finishing the Season 2 or 3 games earlier than others (for whatever reason) with the Players going on Holiday to Benidorm (or suchlike) thinking they were lower mid table but a freak run of events whereby everybody under them won, relegated them.

Until its more or less mathematically certain take nothing for granted, either way.
Our squad is one whereby 'confidence' could just as easily give us a great run of results as much as a dire one.

Via a playoff spot? As they have zero chance of making automatic

I don’t think they’re a bad shout for winning the playoffs. They’ve got a reasonable record against the teams around them, it’s everyone else they’ve struggled against

I can see it being around 50 points . There isn’t a whipping boy like Rotherham . Ok Plymouth let in a hatful but earned a draw at Sunderland last week . I think some down there are capable of picking up points .

Bristol City are handily placed for the play offs…

Blackburn, Watford, Middlesbrough and WBA are not consistent so there is an opportunity for at least one team to potentially catch them

Boro should comfortably get 5th from home form.

That 6th spot is open though. Not convinced on WBA even with Mowbray's return, Watford going to sack Cleverley soon and we've seen in the past Watford replacing manager mid season usually makes them worse and good season for Plastics would be 10th, they've massively overachieved so far and I'd be very disappointed to lose to them tomorrow.

Could be a low of 70 points needed perhaps which will give hope to a few in the bottom half.

Plus one of the playoff team has the dreadful Scott Parker at the helm
