Norwich will get 6th now they've got Sargent back, Boro 5th. West Brom just missing out because they keep picking up injuries and have no depth.

Plymouth, Derby, and Pompey for the drop.

Season over. Close the forum.

I cannot see Norwich getting into the play-offs this season

We'll be reet this season. Can't see us getting into any real danger.

Much more optimistic now that we're stringing together a few results, but consistency is probably going to hurt any attempts of looking upwards. I think we'll end up bouncing around mid table for the remainder. Hope to be proven wrong!

Same mate. Was so entertained.and impressed against Boro. Could have lost the game like but so much positive going on from this management team

2nd top scorers in the league. They've every chance with Sargent back, one of the top 5 players in the league, along with Sainz. Nunez is class too.

Sounds like they're signing a couple more too.

They may be second top scorers but they have also conceded more than us. Given the Ā£millions they spend each season on transfers they should be doing a lot better than they are and I still think they will just miss out on a play-off spot

Just watched them beat Watford , it should have been moreā€¦.

They have got a decent set of fixtures coming up which could see them climb into the top 6

We can only dream of such richesā€¦

I can see your point, but I think you are being a bit disingenuous with the transfers. Itā€™s not just about how much is spent, but how also income received. Looking back at the last 5 seasons Norwichā€™s transfer dealings have just left them in a much better financial situation where as PNE have been losing money every transfer window.

Norwich net transfer spend;
2024/25: +ā‚¬6.85m
2023/24: +ā‚¬24.23m
2022/23: -ā‚¬10.93m
2021/22: -ā‚¬25.15m
2020/21: +ā‚¬30.72m
So in the last 5 seasons Norwich have received +ā‚¬25.72m more from transfers than they have spent on players.

It is the complete opposite if we look at Prestonā€™s net transfer spend;
2024/25: -ā‚¬4.63m
2023/24: -ā‚¬3.84m
2022/23: +/-ā‚¬0m
2021/22: -ā‚¬1.40m
2020/21: -ā‚¬0.6m
So in the same time frame PNE have spent -ā‚¬10.47m more on players than they have received.

So yes, they have spent a lot more on transfers, but they can because their transfer approach has been much more effective and leads to financial safety. The PNE system is sustainable only as long as we are able to replace the transfer debt from other revenue streams.

Itā€™s a great point. So do we sell our greedy Bosnian for, say, Ā£5m and try and replace with a 100k Nugent type replacement? Is this feasible? Is it repeatable?
