Remembering the North End Gentry - Tributes/Memories/Dedications

You're just a young whipper-snapper then 🙂

We've both been through the mill with N.E.

Similar to me started going on 73/74 i think as a 9 year old. Lived off Acregate lane on Shakespeare rd then on to Brookfield when our houses flattened. Went to all 3 Ribbleton schools and wore a silk PNE scarf round my wrist. House of Holland my mates lived next door. My mum Mary and her brother uncle Bob are where my passion comes from both sorely missed.

Great Grandad Richard - started watching in early 1880' - before Invincibles - still walking 15 miles to home games in his 80's after the 2nd war.
Grandad William - started watching in 1896 until he died in 1970's. Went to Wembley in 38 but had to leave to catch a train before Mutch scored and missed the winner!
Mum Edna - started watching in 1930 and never missed a season until her death in 2013 - went to Wembley in 54; 64 & 94.

From them my passion for PNE comes and passes on to my 4 children.

Wow love this.

In memory of my mum. A very keen North Ender she missed the Cup Final in ‘64 as she was expecting me! Very sadly taken way too soon 27 years ago today X

John McGrath , as a 16 year old I loved that day on the flag market and the season in a whole - Chapman's goal at Leyton Orient - 53 Miles West of Venus , McGrath introducing the team to the fans ' the solicitors Atkins , Allardyce and Wrightson ? , Peter Bulmer being there , he really sparked my interest as a teenager having been going on North End since I was 3 and I was saddened when he passed away nearly 20 years ago , really looking forward to tommorrow a time to reflect

My big brother Geoff (RIP),

Sadly (due to a recent op + the weather), I can't be at Horwich tomorrow but I'll be raising a glass to him & the Gentry tomorrow.

COYY!
