Matchday Thread Sheffield Wednesday v PNE -19/08/23 - KO:3PM - Championship

Steve Doyle also played 200 games for us, making his debut as a 16 year old and had 600+ league games.
All good examples of youth being no barrier if you are good enough.
A favourite player of mine; a revelation when he was moved to centre half. Pearson esque player for the youngsters on here. If I recall correctly and showed like Martinez at Man U that you as long as you’ve a good spring you don’t have to be a big lad to play centre half.

Realistically, we are on too small a sample size to really look at it, but Kian's Championship crossing accuracy is currently at 26%, Brady's last season was 24%.

They are at the very least, comparable- as desperate as people are for us to have the second coming of David Beckham. Being up there with Brady is very good.

I’ve never once seen Brady whip a ball in like best can do, from memory they are usually looped skywards, while the attackers twiddle their thumbs waiting for the ball to drop.

I am no expert on how they assess “crossing accuracy”. It sounds fairly irrelevant to how dangerous the delivery is.

Martinez is shite...and thinks he's hard when he's not

It's not perfect by any means. But since we don't have anything other than 'specific moments that spring to mind' otherwise, it's a bit difficult to look at it any other way.

You're right in that it clearly can't differentiate between a cross ballooned out of play or one that gets into a great area and is missed by everyone though.

The same melons who were sat in our seats yesterday, and claimed it was unreserved seating so we should move elsewhere. When I pointed out my 6 year old nephew was with me and they needed to move, they accused me of being out of order!

When I started asking everyone around me if it was unreserved seating, they soon moved elsewhere.
To be fair, I just stand wherever at away games. But understand your situation here.

Sounds like they need be taught a lesson.

Apologies, but I haven't read all the posts here. My view of the Sheff Wed game was that we didn't do as well as we should have.
SW are deep down the league because they are rubbish. WE should have stuffed them silly.

We scored one goal - a very good goal, but not by a goal scorer.
We did play very well, good position and passing but nothing in the net that showed we meant business.

The previous game the up front goal scorer did score - off his knee as a deflection. The keeper had the original shot covered.

WE have been mighty lucky so far - how long will it last.

Our "reserved' seats were taped off. The steward told us to sit "wherver" from 5 minutes before kick off people were coming in large numbers to get to the seating. Why leave it so late ? adds to the problem. Furthermore I am fed up with those that stand. It is all seated for reasons of safety and confort of all. Not everyone finds standing comfortable. I sympathise with people taking youmgsters or seniors to the match. Sheff Weds f c were less than helpful too. I emailed 3 times to get information re disabled parking , No reply received.
