Steve Bruce 🄬 to be sacked…

The March update on this saga - anticipating the imminent shelving of the East Stand project - was sadly lost in the forum reset, but for April here's the latest AVFTT rumour (supposedly confirmed by the club secretary) regarding the, er, imminent shelving of the East Stand project:
"I believe the East Stand is to have new seats throughout, a back wall added and a side wall at the North end. A concourse will also be added behind the stand. For mid-winter night matches when very few away fans are expected the stand may not be opened and the away fans will be located in the SE corner.
"Maybe the 1st bit of good news for this summer and yes I know a new stand would have been nice but at a quarter of the cost that's more money available for squad strengthening."
Sure... "more money available for squad strengthening"... This is all so very different from the Oystons.

A reminder that Sadler's trial on insider trading charges is scheduled for May 2026. šŸæ
Managed to get a reference to their ā€˜rivals’ in there.

Their optimism is based on the assumption that next years League One will be a lot weaker. The promotion of Birmingham, and Hollywood (Wrexham), will leave the way clear for our orange clad 'friends' to mount an automatic promotion campaign (again).
Please don't hold it against me, but I quite often have a look at AVFTT, mainly for the comedy effect.
Yeah , but if Luton and Cardiff / Derby go down they will be there or thereabouts with the likes of Huddersfield, Barnsley, Charlton , Wycombe, Plymouth , Stockport and Bolton….

You're forgetting their imminent marquee summer signings, Sam Tickle, Ellis Simms, Louie Barry, Jerry Yates, Charlie Patino and Cole Palmer.

To be fair I made the last one up, but the others have all been mentioned on the comedic AVFTT.

Sorry to be contrary, but Birmingham have found it easy.
It’s the exception rather than the rule.
The Plastics did it a few seasons ago and Rotherham and I think Wednesday did it but even clubs with the support level of Derby and Ipswich had to wait 2 or 3 seasons.
Not impossible then but by no means easy.

I’ll step back a little after saying this but I’m pleased that Rob Apter appears to be doing well after his significant donation to the Bamber Bridge fund.

As you were …
Possibly along with Ali Waddecar, Rob Apter is the best player I’ve ever watched at Brig, when he was on loan from The Lashers, and he was only 18 or 19 at the time. He will play Championship or higher. Thoroughly decent lad as well.
