Why is it that when a tree falls into a road it does so at that exact moment when a vehicle is driving past.

It happened to me about 3 months ago in the exact same location as today but it was a lamppost. If I'd have been a second earlier, I'd likely have been dead. Luckily I only ended up using it as a ramp which required two new wheels and new suspension.

But, having this discussion with my Mrs this morning, its such a busy road with high volumes of traffic that somebody is always bound to be going past when a potential tragedy strikes.

Horrible set of circumstances, regardless.

Made the national news, poor bloke. Tragic. You'd always imagine a tree falls in a kind of slow motion and you'd have a few seconds to see it and react. But the number of people hit by trees always amazes me, so I guess not.

To be fair, loads of trees came down round here over the weekend that didn't hit a passing car. I guess only that ones that do get reported. Its sort of how the media works with everything, especially bad news....

Such a tragic loss. Condolences to Paul’s family, friends, and everyone at the club. RIP.

Very very sad….

I was speaking to someone from Longton today who said that he had heard that Paul was an electrician from Freckleton …….

I assume that he was doing a job in or around Longton , shockingly unlucky fate.

As the bloke I was talking to said, one second earlier or later and he would have survived 🙁🙁
