Summer 2024 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

Riis is improving again with better coaching. Hecky’s style is chance creation, he got 4 decent chances yesterday and scored one. Unlucky not to have 2 and should have defo scored the third. If he gets in the right positions he’ll get goals and I dare say sign a new contract.

The only negative is it really is hold your breath time on him staying injury free for the next 5 games. As it is with the entire defence and goalie for the rest of the season.

TBH I thought he got an injury in the first half yesterday as he was holding his leg and limped for a bit but seemed to shake it off

I just checked the entire squad, as given on the Sky Sports website... presumably a reliable source.

Looks like we've been making the same mistakes of 'sentimental' signings that led to Nuge re-signing for us 😛 Seriously though, it's hard to see how Sky can be up-to-date enough to have Okkels and Bowler in there... but out-of-date enough to have Eric Skora and Andy Smith still in our squad line-up too.😆

I see James Hill still isn't getting a sniff at Bournemouth. Would be an ideal loan.

A well run, forward thinking club would be having a crack at a permanent there.

Out of contract June 2026, so 18 months from the next window. Not getting a look in at all and gives Bournemouth the opportunity to get a fee for him.

Be a few clubs eyeing that up, we won’t be one of them though.

Was there ever any word on who the OOC player was that was of interest when PH first came in?

Sedge just mentioned it but stopped short of cryptic clues and clear nothing came of it so I missed if the name had actually been disclosed and they've gone elsewhere.

People guessed at a CF but if Riis signs on that's less of a priority with the other two contracted for next season and beyond.

Hecky has done enough with the slop he started with that I'm happy to trust him long term to recruit and build long term.

However I must admit I'm pretty baffled as to how Whiteman keeps his place going forward over Ledson.

Okkels, Stewart, Bowler. Get rid of all 3. Save on wages and get whatever pennies you can.

Must be absolute crap to not get 5 minutes over a completely impotent Riis

He’s not the answer but the only option atm

Frustrating

Or 5 minutes over any number of knackered players out there, just to give a few tired legs a breather.

Nope, we'd rather just use 2 subs than contemplate using any of those 3 top signings.

Stewart was just a kid signed with hardly any experience. Badly needs a loan but can't see there being much interest in league 1. He's going the Woodburn route.

Other two were just punts to boost squad. Bowler just one of those loans that can be quickly forgotten like so many down the years. Okkels at 1.5m though...I think they should've just called a stop to it once Lowe was sacked if that was possible.

He's older than both Kayne Kessler-Hayden and Tom Cannon.
