Summer 2025 - Transfer Rumours and Discussions

As much as I think Iversen is a better stopper than Freddie, I think his distribution and general footwork is worse and not too sure if his command of the area is much better either. Not sure if we're still going forward with the playing out the back as we've seen at times under PH/SM, but as we all know, the more you keep out, the better chance you have to win - vital for a team like us who only average 1 goal per game
Just putting it out there - Cornell has surprised many doubters . His distribution is faster and better than Freddie's. His shot-stopping is good. Command of his area should improve with game time. Just saying.....

I think he's been better than we thought he'd be, but he's not a championship keeper however still good to see him do well. Distribution-wise, breath of fresh air really too! His positioning is a bit naff and would lead to a fair few goals over the season though. At 34, unlikely to improve. Goals conceded record is pretty shocking, however, we don't try defend so 😂

It's potentially a good deal either way. Either we , hopefully, make a decent return, lose the insane management problems he brings, and ( hopefully oink oink spend our profit wisely) or we keep him with an expectation of 15 / 20 a season. Personally, I'd love to see him stay.
How long does Osmajic have left on his contract. If it is only 2 years ideally you are looking to sell now well you can command the highest fee or offer him a new contract before he ends up over your maximum wage and to cover yourself so you sell at a late date

Yep, 2 years - same as McCann, Frokjaer and, er, Lindsay.

If we sold a player for millions £££ do you honestly believe Ridadale would see any of the money or if he did, would he spend it wisely

I would actually be surprised if the keeper is the first 'deal' to be announced once the Premier League season ends.

They will want to look like they are being proactive before season tickets go on sale.

Dan is an upgrade on Woodman, needs a home and first team football.

As a 'free' it's a no brainer and allows funds to be spent elsewhere.

And "no brainer" is the closest to a compliment Peter will get.

Done deal.

Why bother looking for better? Just the TWO managers Dan's seen get sacked so let's bring him back for 3 and 4...

Can’t sign free agents from England until 30th June.

So doubt they’d announce any England-based free agents that we may have agreed with until then at least.

Craig hasn't had the opportunity to reinvest money from a player sale yet - we can only take his word for it that he would, until proven otherwise. It being spent wisely, as you say, is an entirely different and valid issue

He has. We sold Slater and Diaby to Brighton and Sheff Wed.

He should invest more in the things that return a better investment.

Absolutely agree with you but I'm referring to proper sales, not a few hundred grand here and there.

Tend to have to spend money to make money so hopefully we can make a start this summer and pluck a few assets from somewhere

I would love us to spend money on a younger keeper such as Tickle but we both know that won't happen.

There's a million pounds in those two deals right there.

We already made a start - we spent money on Osmajic, Frokjaer and McCann, and they're all now 2 years from the end of their contracts.

Which is ideally when we should be looking to make "proper player sales".

And that summer we broke our transfer record whilst also paying big money (for our standards) on Frokjaer. For all we know, that money was reinvested.

I'm not defending anyone, the Okkels deal last summer shows that spending it correctly is still a massive issue. But imo we can't write off Craig and say that he wouldn't reinvest big money if it came in for Osmajic.
