Former Premier League winners could go bust with money set to run out next year
BLACKBURN have admitted there are major doubts over the club’s future as a result of the Venky’s legal battle with the Indian government. In club accounts submitted this week Blackburn …www.thesun.co.uk
Basically, there was supposed to be a hearing in India this Wednesday just gone between Venky's and the Indian Court (13th Nov). But it has been delayed for the FOURTH time and has now been pushed back for January 13th 2025.
It's quite ridiculous as it concerns Venky's ability to fund Rovers, but that matters not a jot to the Indian Judiciary.
The current state of play based on the LT article, is that if Venky's want to send money to Rovers, they have to match every pound they send and put it in a separate bond with the Indian Court. They effectively have to fork out double the amount each time. Say Rovers need £15m, Venky's must fork out £30m in total. £15m to the club and £15m to the Court.
This Hearing is about Venky's trying to get that double payment stipulation removed, but the Hearing keeps getting pushed back by the Court for whatever reason I.e lack of time, too many cases before them etc.
Without the funds being sent over, Rovers are relying on player sales to raise money. That is how they made the few signings they did in the summer just gone.

Tinpot Rovers
In the same way that CH and PR are tinpot in mentality and not PNE, that is also the case with Venky's and Steve Waggott. It is not Rovers that are tinpot, but their ownership and senior management certainly is.
In the 20 years before Venky's bought the club, Rovers had one game postponed due to heavy rain/waterlogged pitch. That was against Wimbledon in the mid 90s, when Vinny Jones and the Crazy Gang were doing mudslides on the pitch to amuse themselves.
In the 14 years under Venky's ownership Rovers have had SIX games postponed due to heavy rain/waterlogged pitch.
That tells its own story. The river still existed before 2010 and it still rained heavily at times back then too.
This is what trying to do things on the cheap does and it will continue until they properly revamp the pitch and upgrade the drainage.

Haha, wait till you see their goal against Boro, he’s in a different postcode to the last defender and the liner has missed it
The officials in this league 🤣
1-0 up and all over Leeds by the sounds of it. I'm surprised that Sky have chosen to ignore this game. I would have thought it was an attractive game on paper?
