Bought Train Sim World 4 for the PS5 in the Black Friday Sale. I'm new to it all, having never played the previous ones, but the level of detail is amazing.
I've fucked up a couple of times - once during the training where I was coupling a Class 66 to some wagons and it suddenly started moving before I could get back on. It ran away and eventually derailed! 🤣 Also failed a scenario as I passed a signal at danger.
Anyway, here's The Flying Scotsman which I was driving (my actual screenshot from the game)

An add-on was recently released which is the Preston - Blackpool branches and Preston - Ormskirk where you can drive a pacer.
It's going to take some learning but I think this will be a lot of fun!
Ravensthorpe? I thought that was a made up settlement from Assassins Creed Valhalla?Have had a lot of fun with TSW and have since bought a couple of add-ons as they were in the sale.

Would certainly recommend TSW4 - think the deluxe edition is on sale again at the moment until 5th Jan. It's well worth it - have bought some of the additional route packs but I've tended to buy them whenever a sale comes round as the full price is pretty steep.Ravensthorpe? I thought that was a made up settlement from Assassins Creed Valhalla?
Might try one of these train sim games. Tsw the recommended one?
How well done are the routes? How close are they to the real layouts etc?
It looks good to me!I only have Train Simulator and have FAR too much invested in it now to change and start again... I love it, even though it is only 64-bit graphics. There's a sale on Steam so I think you can get the base game for about £7 at the moment, and lots of other routes at up to 70% off.
The Preston to Carlisle route over Shap, and then Carlisle to Glasgow are both absolutely bang on! I'm constantly creating new scenarios for those...

However I'm on PS5 so what suits that best.
Is that orange netting?
Hellfire!
Pretty much spot on IMO and the attention to detail is fantastic. How well done are the routes? How close are they to the real layouts etc?
Just out of interest are any Nobbers perusing this thread into railway modelling? Do you have any shots of your layouts to share.
If so anyone have any advice for a person who may be considering building one and is new to the hobby?🤔
Hi Sid,I put one together but was discouraged when it came to doing the embankments and scenery. Also, I don't have a lot of room. This layout is 6' x 4'.(and is currently stored in my basement). If you're going to do it, take your time, be patient, and have a deep wallet. It's addictive.
