TV Series/Netflix/Box Sets

The seminal Homicide: Life on the Street is airing daily and available to stream on Sky Atlantic.

The detectives are portrayed by actors of the quality of Melissa Leo, Andre Braugher, Ned Beatty and Richard Belzer, not to mention who turns up as the guest stars.

(OK, season 2 episode 1 has Robin Williams playing a 14 year old Jake Gyllenhaal’s dad, directed by Jake Gyllenhaal’s dad)

Yaphet (Dr Kananga) Kotto steals every scene he’s in with his almost Shakespearean portrayal of Lieutenant Al Giardello, whilst 90s music fans will spot the likes of Belly and, strangely, short-lived Ipswich shoegazers Bleach.

The Wire wasn’t the first cop show to be set in Baltimore.

You’re welcome.

I enjoyed it though, its something a bit different which pays homage to the original film but also has its own identity, looking forwards to series 2.
Yeah, don’t get me wrong, definitely did enjoy it!

I just think for the rest of it, it was pretty believable with a lot of realism involved. That’s just me being picky on Ep.9.

Promising start to season three last week.

Not sure I ever expected to see Walton Goggins and Aimee Lee Wood as a couple though. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out…

The first two seasons were very enjoyable.

I liked the third as well. An interesting ending sequence.

Dont have Disney+, but might have to look out for one of their regular free trials for this one
