i want him voted out not this type of gossip shite
Not politics necessarily, but couldn't think of another thread.
Opinions please?
Should part time staff be paid overtime at time and a half? Example, a part time worker who normally does 20 hours each week decides to do 20 extra hours one week. 40 in total. If the extra 20 hours they've worked are paid at time and a half, they earn more that week than the full time workers who have done their normal 40 hour shift.
Do you think this is acceptable or not?
Whatever side we’re on, we all need to wake up and stop sharing this type of manipulative stuff - because it’s not just Tories/Reform who do it.
I won't criticise people for breaking lockdown rules because quite frankly I frequently broke them myself. They defied common sense and I object to the state dictating to me whether I can see my mother, go to the shop, who can come for xmas dinner , how many of my mates can sit sit in my back garden and have a beer and where they can go for a piss. Its astonishing how people were taken in by all that crap.
But people like Johnson and Ferguson were making the rules up, or at least telling us what we had to do, so they were obliged to stick to them themselves ( they didn't because in their heart of hearts they knew they were a load of shite, but that's no excuse).
And people like Starmer who chose to hound them out for their behaviours need to be totally without reproach themselves. And if not they cannot complain about getting the same treatment.
This is tangential to the post you're replying to of course. I agree that if Starmer has done things that broke lockdown rules to the same degree as, say, Johnson, then he deserves to be criticised.
Johnson was not hounded out because of one or two incidences of breaking lockdown rules.
The problem is that when people keep sharing the same BS over and over again, people simply stop taking any notice even when you are telling the truth. Whether it is about Starmer, Trump, or anyone/anything else, it becomes self-defeating. I dislike Starmer, but now shrug my shoulders at most of the posts about him because they are inaccurate/exaggerated/irrelevant. Constant propaganda eventually becomes counterproductive and only appeals to people who already agree with you.“Starmer will definitely be forced to resign over this” is a recurring theme in the type of tweets pennyhome has been posting recently. It’s just shite.
But I don’t believe it to be coincidence… or just Joe Public picking up on the phrase. IMO, it’s one of a few themes and phrases that are carefully being pushed through selected influencers by unscrupulous people with an agenda.

She might improve over time - Starmer was shaky at first but improved. Hope she does - strong opposition is always better. And then you have Kemi Badenoch referencing it in her PMQ's.
I really don't rate her at all. He just seems to bat her away like an annoying fly every week.
