without reading the full storybehind this , I think certainly the headline concurs with my views. I am certain that there are lots of young kids going through all the associated problems of adolescence ( and obcenely some even younger) who are quite simply gay. It has thus been the case since year dot. there are a tiny tiny proprtion of people who are genuinely born in the wrong body.

The headline is correct if you want it to be correct. And if you stick your fingers in your ears so you cannot hear the dog whistle!

The headline clearly implies that the woke brigade is systematically and successfully working to convince gay people that they are not gay, but trans.

A much more likely truth is that some young gay are being convinced (therefore the headline is technically defendable)… but not in any systematic way. And probably in very small numbers.

This is just another example of Badenoch wading in to gain maximum self publicity- using an attitude designed to grab headlines and polarise the nation. Her thirst for self promotion and power is palpable.

He should be removed as PM, that is tax-evasion, might be legal in dodgy accountants offices, but it is tax-evasion by the leader of the country.

Utter greed and self-interest, doing that whilst the low-paid are having to queue at food-banks.

To be fair, Kemi isn't doing a bad job of trying to find the balance between all of the different groups. This is a very, very complex issue - and I am seeing a lot of the homophobia that we saw a couple of decades ago from the right now reemerge from 'progressives' using almost exactly the same techniques and terminology.

As I said a few posts back, I don't care for it at all. The successes the gay rights movement achieved are being undermined, IMO.

Maybe you analyse it better than me. But any post that starts with “Kemi isn’t doing a bad job…” is gonna be treated with scepticism by me!

It is certainly complex - and I don’t know what’s best. But I find that rather than dissect the issues in a mature way, looking for balanced solutions - she just looks to stir the pot for her own self-promotion among her band of likely supporters. I will perhaps keep an eye on things to see if I haven’t been fair.

The Tories are so much disliked and far behind Labour in the polls, defending Sunak ain't going to do much good, It's amazing really Starmer has zero charisma, isn't popular amongst the masses, yet he is streets ahead of the Tories. I hope Labour have it right, Starmer is not someone I would support under normal circumstances, it is just because the Tories have to go that I will vote Labour.

I listened to/read most of her speeches about the issue, so I can assess her views directly rather than through the media battleground, and she speaks a lot of sense and appears to grasp the nuances of this very complex debate that involves conflicting rights. I really have found little to complain about so far - depth rather than soundbites, and consideration rather than kneejerk responses.

Others may disagree and that is up to them.

The debate about conversion therapy is a perfect example of one where the waters are being muddied. The recent debate in the Lords was actually very good and covered a lot of the views from all sides:

It really isn't, or should be, a partisan debate.

His tax return is correct. The 23% is a misleading headline figure. He paid the same rate of tax as everyone else on his employment income, the 23% average has come about because he had a large amount of capital gains last year which he was taxed at 20%. Hence the average tax being 23%.

You are right on that one, if a socialist pops up and displaces Starmer, that is Labour f***ed, the sooner we get PR in place the better, I doubt we would see a Tory majority again. The scary thing is this country is veering to the right along with most of Europe, and that is the only chance the Tories have, that the right thinking voters will outnumber the Labour voters.

We need the young people to take voting seriously and vote to get the Tories out, they must see that the Tories have shit on them from a great height, and they don't care about the future of Britain's young people, it must be bewildering for them to try and work out how they will ever own a home.

We hear so much about "scams" these days, yet surely the tories getting so many working class, low income folk to vote for them must be the greatest.
Like you say, a form of PR is needed and that is how these most recent bunch of cunts got a foothold in 2010.
