SIR PATRICK STEWART QUITS LABOUR PARTY AND REVEALS 'AWKWARD' ENCOUNTER WITH JEREMY CORBYN

Sir Patrick Stewart, one of Labour’s most high-profile members, has abandoned the party he has supported for 73 years after saying he no longer knows “what it stands for”.

The Star Trek actor, who attended his first Labour event when he was five, said: “It doesn’t feel like my party any more” as he attacked Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.

Sir Patrick recalled a frosty first encounter with the Labour leader a few weeks ago, saying: “He was talking to a group of my friends after a theatre performance and I wandered up to join them.

“Jeremy’s eye caught mine and he said ‘oh you’re looking very well’, and I made some light-hearted riposte along the lines of ‘you can’t judge a book by its cover’.

“For some inexplicable reason, this annoyed him, and he shot back ‘you know, Patrick, you could just have said thank you instead of making a joke out of it'.

It's been a long, long time since it stood for what it should do............He's a bit slow on the bloody uptake...

I know he's spoken well of Corbyn in the past but this seems like a bit of an overeaction to a comment he didn't take kindly to...hmmmmm

WOW, what an insult. I’m surprised Patrick didn’t deck him there and then. I mean the fucking neck of Corbyn saying....

‘You could have said thank you” the fucking audacity of Corbyn saying that.

That’s it, I’m done with Labour as well due to the offensive nature of the leader, what a ****.

I’ve never heard such a disgraceful fucking insult.

Bastard.

Get him sacked.

Disgusting.........

Erm, desperate for a story much?!!

Certainly seems like an over reaction by the pair of them.

Indeed but the point missed by the previous poster is that lifelong Labour supporters are not liking Corbyn and his philosophies. They won't be voting Labour because of him.

"To be perfectly honest, I find it difficult to understand what Labour really stands for or what it represents right now.

"It doesn't feel like my party anymore."

What ? Socialism?.You're absolutely correct, many labour supporters have never seen it ( only amateur tory policy ) and therefore won't like it.. There are a lot of parasites and clingers among labour these days built up over the years and they are trying to reclaim their status ..................Even if it doesn't work out in the long run wtf eh, lets have a change?. Can't be any worse than what we have had to put up with for 20 odd years.

Your opinion and you're well entitled to it, however, it's worth acknowledging that Labour will never gain power under Corbyn as even the lifelong Labour supporters don't support him. Agree or not. It's whats happening. Bit of a shame really considering the utter plight of who's in power and Corbyn is actually going to keep them there!

People like you voting for the Tories is what is keeping Labour out. People who believe every bit of tittle tattle about him. The Labour movement has always been bigger than just one person. Anyway, the polls show Labour leading....

I support him 100%

Polls :D Almost as funny as you defending Corbyn and having previously stated you don't have any time for him!

Believe tittle tattle? His own skeletons are defeating him Mr Essex.

A completely wasted opportunity for the Labour Party because of their leader.

Perhaps we need a leader like Chuka eh?

A promise to overturn Brexit would see Labour win a landslide victory.

Im not a Jezza fan, but this ridiculous witchhunt makes me better disposed towards him. The desperation to dig up anything to fling at him, in the hope something sticks, marks a new low point in politics

I'm acknowledging Jack Shit.... But if no one else comes along with some new approach then we're faced with another few decades of the " status quo "... Fuck that for a lark....but carry on doing what you're doing and you'll get your wish....

Then there's nowhere to go with this debate :)

Of course there is.... Clots like you will see the light and work it out for yourself rather than concentrating on what the propaganda machine tells you ;)

No there isn't you won't (this time) acknowledge an opinion so meaningful debate is over. Not like you I must say.
