Used to love the food at Pond, nothing has come close since it closed, hopefully this will.Bar Pintxos opened last week on the flag market. Very smart place.
Pintxos is a Spanish tapas style thing (pronounced 'Pinchos')

Damascus is rivalling Jaffa for me. Big claim.
Soup, Chicken Tawook with rice, can of pop, Baklava and Turkish Coffee. £12 each.
Friargate, directly across from Jaffa, Roper Hall side.Where are they please...
Hence why I said 'tapas-style thing'. Glamming it up a bit. Cold meat attached to bread with a cocktail stick sounds a bit 1970's house party.Pinxtos isn't tapas, they're cold snacks that you help yourself to at the bar and you pay by the cocktail stick. Unless the place in town has a tapas menu too?
Will check it out, looks smart.
PS. We do tapas completely wrong in this country.
Yeah but it's Spanish so it's fine.Hence why I said 'tapas-style thing'. Glamming it up a bit. Cold meat attached to bread with a cocktail stick sounds a bit 1970's house party.
Yeah we went a couple of years ago and it's different owners now, food was nice albeit a bit too salty. The same people own Tapas Esteban in Chorley. Or at least they used to... Very similar set up and food, not cheap though.

Does anyone know who owns the building? There was some misconception on some of the Blog Preston comments that it was owned by PCC.
As for Smashed - if the worst does happen, I hope they find another unit. Was in there a couple of weeks ago and thought it was fantastic.
They do decent grub.Anyone use this place?

Sounds flippin good that.Had them deliver tonight for the first time. The Garlic Chilli Chicken Massala went down a treat - and I've popped the Chicken Sylheti in the freezer for later next week. 😁

For anyone that likes Kentucky, here's Colonel Sanders himself. What I can't understand is why they don't know who he is?
And Manchester (franchises). According to the uploader that was '63. Imagine Colonel Sanders turning up at a Kentucky now. There'd be a riot !Think KFC only got big in the 50s, so his personal identity wasn't that famous then (guessing that).
But bizarrely he mentions Blackpool at the end !
They should reopen the Turkish Baths in there.
