Summer 2022 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

I don’t want us signing anyone just for the sake of a fresh face around the place. Only someone who’d make us better or has the potential to improve. No more crocks or bargains. We’ll just have to be patient as quality costs money either in sales fees or salaries and most clubs will have identified the same targets.

Your count of 17 players in the squad, probably adds up to why Lowe says that he wants another 4 or 5 players to be signed.
That also includes Maguire though, who is rumoured to want out. Plus Cunningham who can barely manage two starts a month.

It's hard to say what the January transfer window will be like with the World Cup this year. Prem clubs might be reluctant to loan fringe players out.

There has been in the past and there should be now.

But there’s also dozens and dozens of quality free agents out there now due the market changing and players realising they’re better served running their contracts down.

It’s up to the Club to sell their vision and use some of the newly found millions off the wage to entice good players.
Yep free agents a plenty but we must be careful to differentiate as to why that is. Many will have been not good enough for their club anymore or do not fit the proposed system. Some may be 'crocs' seeking a final pay day, some perhaps being regarded as 'bad apples', many will be youngsters who have been released from their respective academy. Maybe some of those who have simply run their contracts down in search of a better deal may find that perhaps it is a case of the 'grass being greener' and have to settle for what they can get [maybe Barky fits this description]. Unfortunately PNE have a history of choosing from the first two so hopefully this time will be different?

Get your point about living within your means , If the Hemmings family really want to push us on more they would open the purse strings more, not league one/two budget .

Until this club is sold we are just bobbing along as it stands, no ambition or relegation. We will never get in the premier league . That American would never have taken us over as he has been found out nothing to do with the Hemmings family.
Thankful the Hemmings family want to safeguard their fathers legacy they will sell one day hope they stay vigilant and find a lover of PNE not a glory hunter or get Rich quick investor with no true love for PNE

Adam O'Reilly wanted by Italian second tier side Como. Got Marc Bircham, ex-QPR midfielder, on their staff.

That's interesting. He's always received good reports wherever he's played. Is he coming back now it's July? And will Lowe be willing to give him the chance to impress here?

I heard Lowe doesn’t rate him and O’Reilly was getting very frustrated over not being given a chance
