Is anyone worried about this yet? Sounding like it's highly contagious. I might have missed it but have we had our government give any update on the status of those people in York over two weeks ago? I'm finding it all a bit odd.

Confirmed: 40,204-Dead: 907

Was some interesting leaks on the virus yesterday. I'm not going to post them. Not enough tin foil hats around. .... Bio weapon to slow the Chinese down ? Omg cha.. virus contains Hiv sequences and proteins that attack certain enzymes.. wew lad

I've been looking at Wuhan on Twitter. Doesn't seem like it's similar to the flu to me. They're putting in some mad restrictions considering it has such a low mortality rate. Can't trust the CCP not to doctor the numbers.

I'm just concerned that it's been two weeks since we had the first confirmed case in York and we've heard nothing from our government. If it takes more than two weeks to treat, I feel that the NHS will be woefully unprepared to deal with it.

It seems very contagious, but perhaps not as deadly as some other Flue type virus

We have to remember the number of people affected in China against the numbers of people in those Cities, so is the number of deaths proportionate ? I would think so
It is early days yet to discover the actual source, but if it is those Live Meat Markets and so called ‘exotic foods’, I think the authorities have a duty to us ALL and their citizens in particular, to close them down PERMINATLEY

Swine flu, bird flu, ebola, cono virus or the war on terror that never ends = shit your self human-cattle.... I wouldn't worry too much. It's probably one of steve bannons bio weps to decimate China.... Where does it come from ? Bats? People never eaten these bats before ? We could do with batman on the case

Yeah, Wuhan is very densely populated so it probably spreads faster. A Chinese gaming company called 'tencent' posted higher death toll numbers then pulled it down. Different death toll numbers being given out all ore China

Disagree strongly

It’s a new strain and we (as always with something new) lean more as we go along
What’s the alternative to the quarantine, refusing to allow any of our Citizens from over there to come home?

And any that are tested positive WILL go unto specialised units; the problem will be if it becomes wide spread over here, have we enough such Units to cope

I do accept and so should they, the restricts, and I am glad to see the Government today is to take steps to make it compulsory, we have a duty to them and they have a duty to us, anything else is just selfish IMO

I'm not disagreeing with the quarantines at all. How else would you stop it spreading? I've seen videos (not sure how reliable they are) of people having their doors and windows welded shut and apparently people with no symptoms, that are self-isolating, being forced by the Army into hospital quarantine, where they are more likely to be affected. Twitter is a rabbit hole for conspiracy theories though so who knows what it true.

My point was that our government hasn't actually released any information. I live on the Wirral, near to Arrowe Park, and the amount of fear here is quite high. Our local MP has been trying to get updates on the situation and the gov haven't been forthcoming at all. I'm just finding it a bit odd that we've been told nothing about any of the suspected or confirmed cases yet. That seems to be playing on most people's minds around here. Suspected cases are supposed to leave Arrowe Park on Thursday/Friday anyway so we should know more then. Fingers crossed that everyone is well.
