I bought a couple of Deepdale Duck soft toys from the shop for grandchildren when they were young. Recently went to see some new furniture in one Grand child's room. I was very surprised to see the duck still in pride of place.

I stand by my last comment about mascots probably fizzling out over the next few years, but genuinely enjoyed Deepdale Duck's antics.
Another PNE legend never to be forgotten, thanks for all the memories Simon.

Preston North End can confirm Simon Nash has retired from his role as Deepdale Duck.

A few years ago I brought my son over to the UK and asked PNE if I could have a tour of Deepdale. They were very generous and agreed and Simon was the tour guide. He was great and showed us round all the facilities, even into the dressing rooms. A very special moment for my son, who is now a life long North Ender.
It's like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Every generation, when one moves on, another is born.

A PNE fan I know had a birthday party in the Blues Bar at Ewood Park. Someone arranged for Simon in Duck costume to make a guest appearance.
I will never forget Deepdale Duck being thrown out of the Rovers Club Shop for wiping his ass with a Rovers replica shirt.
